We are often asked what are the best tips for a beauty routine at home in order to keep a healthy and radiant skin. If you follow the advice below, then you will notice a real difference.
Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise
By cleansing, toning and moisturizing twice a day using the process below, you will haelp to maintain the condition of your skin. Then once a month, you should get a deep cleansing facial from your beauty salon.
In the morning:
Two cleanses - A first cleanse to remove dirt and a second cleanse is to thoroughly clean deep into the skins follicles.
Tone - Toning is required to maintain a PH balance at 5.5 after your cleansing which can leave your skin at the wrong balance. Your toner can also aid pore tightening and the removal of excess traces of your cleanser.
Moisturise - Moisturising twice a day will keep your skin smooth, supple, hydrated and leaving your skin looking radiant! If your skin is dry or has excess oils then make sure you chose a moisturiser suitable for you skin type. Ideally, get a moisturiser with a minimum SPF of 20 although you can mix your own sunscreen with the moisturiser!
Repeat these steps in the evening removing dirt, make up and daily pollution that's been sitting on your skin. Blemishes and blocked pores will also be prevented by using these simple procedures
Exfoliate
Choose a suitable product for your skin type and exfoliate twice a week after your cleansing. When exfoliating make sure the skin is wet and gently rub in circular motions avoiding the eye area!
Exfoliating helps to revitalize the skin by removing the dead skin cells and should become an important part of your beauty routine. The process will leave a fresh looking revitalised skin; unclogging the pores and leaving the skin luxuriously soft and smooth.
Face Masks
Do you have a little time to spare just before your evening TV programme starts?! Well you can make up your very own home made masks...
Suffering from dry, dehydrated skin? These simple ingredients found in your cupboard can help this: egg yolks, avocado, honey, dark chocolate, banana, and olive oil. The face mask locks in moisture and also helps to smooth the skin.
You can help bind the mixture together using a base ingredient such as oats and a natural Greek yoghurt.
For those suffering from oily skin or just an oily T-Zone, why not try these following ingredients...
- Egg whites
- Lemon juice
- Any type of red berried fruit i.e. strawberries, raspberries, cranberries etc
- Carrots ( cooked and mashed, adding a little honey)
- Apples ( grated)
Don't forget the oats and a little Greek yoghurt to help bind the mixture.
These ingredients act brilliantly as an astringent so stripping away any excess oils, leaving the skin feeling super clean and soft!
Combining different ingredients for different areas of the skin can help with problem areas of the skin. For example, if you suffer from just an oily T-Zone but the cheeks and neck feel a little dry, then apply egg whites/strawberries to the forehead and nose and leaving the nourishing ingredients e.g. avocado etc for the cheeks and neck - making a great 'Combi' mask!
If you want to maintain a soft, radiant and healthy skin, then following these simple beauty tips combined with your other regular beauty salon visits, will make a big difference.
